To ensure students are healthy and ready to learn, Omaha Public Schools partners with One World Community Health Center and Charles Drew Health Center to provide quality health care within nine School- Based Health Centers (SBHC) in buildings throughout the district.
The SBHCs are staffed by licensed, advanced-practice registered nurses and physician assistants who can diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for many illnesses that keep children out of the classroom, in addition to providing school and athletic physicals and administering immunizations which are required to attend school.
